Bohinj is a perfect place for hikers and climbers, as it has more than 300 km of marked mountain trails and more than 100 km of hiking trails. There are many mountain huts along Bohinj mountain trails, where you can refresh yourself, relax and spend the night.
Whether you stay at Gorenc or Škantar Apartments, great opportunities for cycling are at your disposal. In the vicinity of both houses, 600 meters from Gorenc Apartments and 800 meters from Marija Škantar Apartments, there is access to the 15-kilometre Bohinj cycling trail.
Due to pristine nature and crystal clear water, fishing in Bohinj is a unique experience. Popular fishing species are lake and brown trout, tusk, grayling, chub, rainbow trout and lake char. The fishing districts are Lake Bohinj, the Sava Bohinjka River and the Mostnica stream.
If you like running and walking, Bohinj is the right place for you. Breathing fresh mountain air, conquering kilometres of gradual and mountain trails, breathtaking views (upward and downward) are something running through city streets and parks can’t hold a candle to.
For many guests, water is the key "element" that makes summer Bohinj so attractive to them. Lake Bohinj, the largest permanent and deepest natural lake in Slovenia, is very clean. In summer, the surface warms up to only 22 °C (71 F), which means the water is "fresh" even on the hottest days.
In Bohinj, you can ski on many ski slopes suitable for every member of your family. Vogel, with a beautiful view of Lake Bohinj and the Julian Alps with Triglav, is the largest ski resort with natural snow.
